How the Aros Project Management Program (IPMA®) is Structured

The Aros Project Management Program (IPMA®) consists of six modules, each lasting two days, covering all essential aspects of project management. Upon completion, you have the option to take the IPMA® certification through Dansk Projektledelse.

Module 1: Project Management – Overview (2 days)

Gain a solid foundation in project management, exploring key methodologies like waterfall, stage-gate, and agile. Learn to balance time, scope, and resources, manage different stakeholders, build strong teams, and lead effectively.

Key topics:

• Project models and frameworks (O4L, agile, waterfall, etc.)
• Situational leadership and team motivation
• DiSC profile for self-awareness
• Team development and dynamics

Module 2: Project Initiation (2 days)

Master the fundamentals of goal setting, stakeholder management, and project planning. Learn to define clear objectives and ensure smooth project execution.

• Goal setting and scoping
• Stakeholder management and communication
• Milestone planning and estimation techniques
• Budgeting and scheduling controls

Module 3: Project Planning (2 days)

Develop structured project plans using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), risk analysis, and critical path identification.

• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Risk management and change control
• Quality management for process and product
• Project logs, closure, and transition planning

Module 4: Project Leadership (2 days)

Enhance your leadership skills with a focus on emotional intelligence, team management, and effective facilitation.

• Leadership styles and their impact on projects
• Emotional intelligence in project management
• Meeting leadership and facilitation techniques
• Self-reflection and feedback for continuous improvement

Module 5: Project Execution & Economics (2 days)

Learn how to execute projects successfully, measure progress, and manage budget and stakeholder expectations.

Key topics:

• Handling changes and conflicts
• Progress measurement and steering committee meetings
• Business case as a decision-making tool
• Project closure and evaluation

Module 6: Projects, Change & Benefits Realization (2 days)

Understand how projects align with organizational strategy and drive long-term impact. This module also includes an overview of the IPMA® certification process.

• Planning for IPMA® certification

The Aros Project Management Program (IPMA®) is designed for anyone involved in project work, whether you lead projects or contribute as part of a project team — regardless of project size.

No formal admission requirements – anyone can join!

At an orientation meeting with Dansk Projektledelse, you can get guidance on the appropriate certification level. If you choose “D,” the following four steps apply:

• Introduction session: Guidance on using the “Competencies in Project Management” self-assessment tool. You will work on exercises to complete your CV and self-assessment, while also being briefed on the scope and format of the written exam. Duration: 4 hours.
• CV and self-assessment: You will prepare a CV and conduct a self-assessment, which you then submit for evaluation by assessors.
• Written exam: The exam takes place in Allerød or Vejle and lasts 3 hours. No aids are allowed. Format: Multiple choice questions and open-ended questions.
• Assessor evaluation: Assessors compile their evaluations into a response letter, and if your results meet the minimum requirements, a certificate is issued, valid for five years.

Note: The IPMA certification itself is an optional add-on through Dansk Projektledelse. An IPMA-D certification costs 8,500 DKK ex. VAT. If you choose not to pursue IPMA certification, you will still receive a certificate confirming completion of our training, ensuring your skills are documented.

If you are more focused on gaining the tools and less concerned about earning IPMA® certification, you can choose not to take the IPMA® exam and instead receive a certificate titled “Aros Project Management Program (IPMA).” This choice is entirely up to you and can be made later in the course.

Before the course begins, you’ll receive your curriculum, which you will study over the next four months. It includes a well-balanced mix of books, articles, and videos, totaling approximately 600 pages.
